Plesk
7.5 for Windows reloads your control panel and keeps it reloaded.
With 100+ new enhancements the software delivers a low total
cost of ownership and a new ease of management through several
optimization features like our new key auto-update mechanism,
auto-component updater, migration manager for importing legacy
customers, and a Web-based installation for quick deployment.
The redesigned cleaner and easier to use interface gives your
customers the ability to create custom skins and to integrate
Plesk into high-level provisioning systems. Plesk 7.5 for Windows
has months of user-suggested features included and tons of enhancements
to its predecessor Plesk 7. In addition, there is increased
flexibility and support for third-party application integration
(mail servers, ftp servers, web statistic, and Plesk plug-ins)
allowing users to pick and choose between several options for
management.
Commitment to Microsoft Technology
The new release of Plesk 7.5 for Windows holds the industry gold
standard for Windows hosting. The software was developed with
a close adherence to Microsoft shared hosting guidelines. Plesk
7.5 for Windows includes complete IIS management capabilities
in addition to support for the Microsoft DNS server. Furthermore,
you can jump-start your ASP.NET development with automatically
deployed ASP.NET Starter Kits. Developers will receive a totally
new level of support for working with various ASP.NET framework
versions (including 2.0), control over IIS application pools,
managing Code Access Security, checking and automatic fixing of
most common configuration and permission errors, ASP.NET debugging,
and more.
Secure
Plesk 7.5 for Windows has been designed and tested for security.
The software’s redesigned impersonation subsystem improves
overall system security as well as support for 3rd party FTP
servers that make secure uploads possible. Furthermore, sender
Permission Framework (SPF) support provides elevated spam protection
and ensures that your mail will be received by mail services
adopting this policy, e.g. AOL or Hotmail. The new auto-upgrade
mechanism supports updating of third-party components like Perl
or PHP eliminating newly found security issues. Finally, security
reviews during a multi-beta stage mitigate the risk of exploitable
security vulnerabilities in Plesk.
Plesk Software Development Kit (SDK)
The new Plesk 7.5 for Windows software includes an SDK that allows
you to build on Plesk, integrate into Plesk, or customize Plesk
to meet your needs. The new software furnishes officially supported,
stable (version to version) and a consistent (across platforms)
set of APIs. Full documentation and examples allowing and encouraging
easy customization and extension of base functionality are included.
In addition, you can add skins and add-ons and the functionality
can be extended further with plug-ins running side-by-side. Connect
with Plesk via the extensive Plesk Agent XML API. The SDK makes
it a cinch to automate your hosting operations, and sign new clients
– it’s never been this easy to build centralized services
provisioning on Plesk.
Platform Parity
Starting with this release, Plesk for UNIX and Plesk for Windows
will have many common features, skins, application packs, language
packs and documentation. It allows Windows users to benefit from
5 years of customer-driven usability improvements to all the interfaces
of Plesk for UNIX. The common look and behavior further establish
Plesk as an Industry Standard Hosting Platform for Hosting Service
Providers.
